The Texas Copperheads moved to the af2 from the struggling NIFL. Texas became the worst offense of the year, averaging just 27 points per game and being outscored 212-72 in the third quarter of games. The team was even shutout on the road at Bossier-Shreveport, a very rare occurrence. The Copperheads didn't improve in 2008. Copperhead quarterbacks Rudy Carlton and Stephen Wasil passed for 47 touchdowns and 31 interceptions. Armar Watson led the team in receiving. The team scored an average of 33 points per game, while giving up 55. The Copperheads folded after two dismal seasons.
