The Daytona Beach Thunder became the loveable losers of the AIFL in 2006. The team lost five games by six point or less. The team's best win was at home against the Chattahoochee Valley Vipers, 61-34. This was the team's only win against a playoff team. After the 2006 season, the Thunder left the AIFL to help form the World Indoor Football League
