The D.C. Armor was a 2009 AIFA expansion team. Like most expansion franchises, the Armor were relative unsuccessful in their first year. Six quarterbacks combined for 34 touchdown passes to 48 interceptions. Ricky Simmons and Marcus Hill both caught nine touchdowns. James Gibson led the team in rushing, with 191 yards and seven scores. The team was also outscored badly in the fourth quarter of games, 193-89. On the bright side, the team did win its final two home games against Carolina and Erie, offering some hope for the 2010 season. The team folded following the 2009 season.
