The Marion Blue Racers were the second incarnation of Marion in the CIFL. The Blue Racers were led by quarterback Josh Harris. Through nine games, he threw for 801 yards, 23 touchdowns and seven picks. Harris led the team in rushing scores with eight. CIFL veteran Mike Tatum brought in 11 of those scores and Brandon Williams caught nine touchdowns. Bryan Williams picked 8 passes for the Blue Racers, returning one for 40 yards. The defense racked up 27 sacks and held opponents to 22% conversion rates on both third and fourth down. The team's two regular season losses both came to Cincinnati. The Racers cruised into the playoffs and defeated Dayton in the semifinal round to play at Cincinnati for the title. The Commandos beat the Blue Racers 44-29. Following the 2011 season, the Blue Racers joined the UIFL. The team returned to the CIFL for 2013 and posted a 1-9 record. The only win came in the final game of the year against Port Huron, 23-22. Statistics were incomplete for the 2013 season. The team returned to the CIFL in 2014 and had great success. Indoor and arena football veteran Chris Wallace found his way to the Blue Racers and led them late in the season after replacing three other players who had started at the position. Mike Tatum led all receivers with 493 yards and 12 scores. Opponents converted just six fourth downs against the Blue Racers defense. The team advanced to the postseason, where they cruised past Northern Kentucky 56-40 and would host the CIFL title game. Erie was the opponent. Erie quickly built a 19-0 lead, but Marion scored the next 26. However, that would be all the scoring for the Racers, as Erie went on to a 38-26 victory.
