The Bismarck Bucks left the CIF for the IFL in 2019. It was a rude welcome, as the Bucks went 2-12, with the victories coming against Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids. John Gibbs passed for 16 touchdowns and ran for 14. The 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19, right after Bismarck suffered a home loss to San Diego, 50-36. In 2021, a full season was played and Bismarck would make the playoffs, but fall in the first round. The Bucks returned in 2022 and went 3-13, missing the playoffs. The team was snake-bitten in close games, dropping five games by five points or less. Jayru Campbell experienced the most success at quarterback, passing for 1,050 yards, 24 scores, and eight picks. Edgar Poe Jr. caught 47 balls for 475 yards and twelve touchdowns. Campbell led all rushers with 324 yards and twelve touchdowns. Bismarck had a week two chance to defeat Sioux Falls, but a 30 yard field goal was blocked, solidifying a 38-36 loss. A late punt return for touchdown cut a lead at Iowa to 41-36, but Bismarck was again unable to overcome a deficit in week nine. A 28-25 loss to Massachusetts came on a touchdown and two point play with nine seconds left in regulation.
