The El Paso Generals were the second attempt at indoor football in El Paso. Indoor football veteran Tommy Jones led the team at quarterback to a 12-2 regular season record. Jones threw 66 touchdowns, Lemans Casimier caught 23 and Deangelo Woodie caught 21 and both receivers racked up over 1,000 yards. Opponents converted just 11 out of 49 field goal attempts against the Generals, as they held opponents to 39% on third-down conversions. By winning their division, the Generals earned a first round bye in the playoffs and would take a week off before hosting San Angelo and AFL veteran Sonny Cumbie. Behind two Ulysses Odom and Jermany Blakely touchdowns and six touchdown passes by Jones, the Generals rolled to a 75-37 victory and would face the Billings Outlaws. With Sioux Falls out of the playoff picture, Billings was the prohibitive favorite to win the IFL title. For the first half of the game, El Paso hung tough, trailing 34-23. The Outlaws outrushed El Paso 182-23 and Chris Dixon's five touchdown passes outweighed Tommy Jones' three touchdowns and three picks. The Outlaws dominated the second half and won 66-35. The team did not participate in the 2010 season.
