In the playoffs, Frisco defeated Iowa 64-39 and then fell 48-41 to Quad City, a team they had defeated twenty days earlier, 50-44. Frisco carried a 41-26 lead but the Steamwheelers closed on a 22-0 run. The Fighters returned with another excellent season in 2023, going 13-2 and again qualifying for the playoffs. TJ Edwards remained the fulltime quarterback, passing for 2,600 yards and 39 touchdowns and just ten interceptions. He also led all rushers with 49 touchdowns and 853 yards. Jermenic Smith wash is top target, catching 80 passes for 923 yards and 14 touchdowns. Phazione McClurge brought in ten scores, as well. In week 16 of the season, Frisco dominated Sioux Falls 56-15. The two would meet again in the conference title game with a spot in Indoor Bowl on the line. The Fighters held a 27-10 halftime lead at home and it seemed they were headed to the title game. However, Sioux Falls came back and would win on a touchdowns and two point play with just twelve seconds left to end the season in heartbreak for Frisco.
