The Colorado Wildcats played a single season in the troubled PIFL. After a 9-5 regular season record, which included three wins and one loss by forfeit, the team headed for the postseason. The Wildcats fell to the Louisiana Bayou Beast, 57-51. Due to financial woes, the team folded for two weeks during the season, until a new owner stepped in. After the PIFL's 1998 season, the new owner, Tom Shafer, said that his team would join Kerry Ecklund's Indoor Football League. However, that never happened and the Wildcats were never heard from again.
