The New Mexico Stars moved to the LSFL from the defunct Intense League for the 2013 season. Kasey Peters quarterbacked the franchise, throwing for 1,759 yards, 47 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Joshua Floyd and Dexter Manley bought caught 24 scores, while Roland Bruno caught 12 of his own. DeMarcus James picked nine passes and returned two for touchdowns. The team defeated San Angelo four times and Abilene twice to compile a 6-6 regular season record. The team faced off against Laredo in the playoffs and fell by a 61-56 count. The Stars returned for a 7-5 regular season in 2014. Statistics were incomplete, but Andrew McGlory led the team at the quarterback position and his leading wide receivers were Jerome McGee and Dexter Manley. A three game winning streak to end the season put the Stars in the third place. Following the expulsion of Rio Grande Valley from the playoffs, New Mexico traveled to San Angelo for a controversial title game. The Bandits defeated the Stars 64-34.
