The Mississippi Fire Dogs came from the IPFL and brought their winning ways with them to the NIFL, for one season, at least. The Fire Dogs lost just one game in their inaugural season and cruised through Johnstown, Ohio Valley, and Wyoming to win Indoor Bowl I. 2002 was a stark contrast, as the team finished 3-11, their only wins coming against Tupelo and Winston-Salem. After the 2002 season, the Mississippi Fire Dogs folded.
