The Louisiana Swashbucklers joined the PIFL after leaving the SIFL. Fred Harrison quarterbacked the team through its new season, throwing for 1,651 yards, 28 touchdowns and 13 picks. Joradn Rideaux led all receivers with 1,132 yards and 18 touchdowns. Kendrick Perry rushed for 20 touchdowns and 439 yards. The team won just one road game at Knoxville. A .500 record, though, was good enough to make the playoffs as the third seed. The team earned a trip to Richmond, a team whom they had split two regular season meetings with. The Raiders led 34-16 at half and won 56-50, despite a Swashbucklers second half rally. Chris Mitchell took over for the second PIFL season and final season for the longstanding Swashbucklers franchise. He passed for 2,242 yards, 41 scores and eight interceptions. His top target was Jordan Rideaux, who racked up 1,070 yards on 75 catches, finding the end zone 22 times. While the team did score 19 rushing touchdowns, rushers netted just 518 yards. On the defensive side of the game, Greg Harvey picked five of the team's sixteen interceptions. Louisiana quarterbacks were sacked 26 times, compared to just 11 sacks by the Swashbucklers' defense. After dropping the first three games of the year, the team won four of its next five, including a double overtime thriller over Richmond. However, the bottom dropped out of the franchise, causing the cancellation of its final home game. The regular players did finish out the remaining three roadg ames, winning by 38 in Knoxville, but falling at Alabama and Richmond by a combined 57 points. A 5-6 record was not enough to make the PIFL playoffs.
