The Eastern Kentucky Drillers joined the UIFL in 2011. Allan Holland quarterbacked the team for the majority of the season, throwing for 2,386 yards, 53 touchdowns and 18 picks. Aric Evans snagged 79 catches for 1,089 yards and 33 scores. Matthew Barbour amassed 1,216 yards and 25 scores as a wide receiver. The team completed an up and down regular season, going 8-6. A short field goal with 24 seconds left gave the team a 44-43 home victory over the Northern Kentucky River Monsters. The team qualified for the playoffs and defeated Huntington 20-4. The team advanced to the title game and lost to Saginaw, 86-69. The team returned in 2012, quarterbacked again by Allan Holland. Statistics for the year were incomplete, but the team went 7-4, with four victories over semi-pro squads. The team qualified for the playoffs, but with a self-imposed ban and lack of finances, the team ceded its playoff berth.
