The Huntington Hammer was an inaugural UIFL teamin 2011. The Hammer finished a 7-7 regular season, winning four of its first five games and losing six of the last nine. Martavious Young quarterbacked the Hammer throughout the year, throwing for 2,200 yards, 39 touchdowns and 20 picks. Young also ran for 12 scores. Kenny Davis led the team in receiving touchdowns with 11 touchdowns, while Jeff Phillips amassed 594 yards and eight scores. Dray Mason netted 309 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns. Huntington's defense sacked opposing quarterbacks 42 times, while the offensive line only allowed 14. Three of the team's seven losses came by seven, one, and six points. The team won its final two games to qualify for the UIFL playoffs and a trip to Eastern Kentucky. The two top defensive teams split their regular season meetings. Eastern Kentucky took a 7-4 lead into the fourth quarter and won 20-4, in one of the lowest scoring games in indoor football history.
